The teak wood dining set was plain and practical, but its clean lines and earthy materials gave it a timeless, aesthetic feel.
After getting married, our tastes in interior design had to merge. My husband prefers a more traditional look and enjoys collecting decorative pieces from his travels. I lean toward simplicity—neutral palettes, natural textures, and furniture that feels grounded and intentional. Instead of squeezing it all into one quick shoot, we've designed this experience around three sessions, each taking place at a meaningful point in the school year. The result? A gorgeous collection of images that capture who they are in this moment — and how much they've grown.
 
1. Summer — Before It All Begins
We'll have our first session before the school year officially kicks off. The palpable anticipation, the vibe fresh, fun, and excited about what's ahead. Whether it's a breezy outdoor shoot or a relaxed in-studio session, this is the perfect way to mark the start of senior year. It's all about capturing their personality right now—laid-back, hopeful, and full of dreams.
 
2. Fall — Right in the Heart of the Year
As the weather cools, it's the perfect time for an indoor session with cozy, elegant vibes. We'll create a beautiful backdrop in-studio that complements their style — whether they lean more classic or love a modern, fashion-inspired look.
This session includes professional hair and makeup so they feel confident and camera-ready.
Fall is also a great time to include a few family members — maybe mom joins in for a portrait, or a sibling tags along. These moments are significant and cherished.
 
3. Spring — The Big Finish
The spring session is the grand finale—just before graduation! By now, everything's in full swing: prom, finals, and college decisions. During this session, we bring out the prom dress, the cap and gown, and even a college shirt to celebrate what's next. Want to bring a best friend or two? Absolutely. These final portraits are joyful, proud, and full of heart—the perfect ending to their senior year story.
 
All Wrapped Up in a Custom Album
After the final session, we'll put everything together into a gorgeous, professionally designed album—a keepsake you'll flip through again and again. It tells the full story of their senior year: where they started, how they grew, and where they're headed next.

Behind the Scenes: How I Create Heirloom Portraits
In a recent video, I gave viewers a look at the process behind one of my newest studio artworks. Here’s what goes into turning a photo into museum-worthy portrait art:

Every fine art portrait begins with preparation. I help choose the right wardrobe, guide your posing, and design the set using timeless backdrops and classic furniture to set the mood and tone.

After capturing the photo, I transform it into fine art by digitally painting it—stroke by stroke—using techniques that mimic traditional painting. I don’t use shortcuts or filters; every brushstroke is done with intention to preserve a handcrafted, authentic look.

Once the digital painting is complete, it’s printed as a giclée on canvas. This advanced printing technique uses microscopic dots of ink for stunning clarity, detail, and depth. It’s the same method used by museums and art galleries.

To elevate the piece further, I apply real oil brush strokes to the canvas by hand. This adds texture and dimension, making the portrait feel even more alive and timeless.

These portraits aren’t just beautiful—they’re made to last. Each piece is designed to stay vibrant for 80 to 100 years or more, making it a true heirloom to be passed down for generations.
