Enjoy the Moment Portraits is a private, boutique portrait studio where every session is a work of art — and every client is treated like the subject of one.
We specialize in fine portraiture, painted portraits, and heirloom wall art that doesn't simply capture how you look, but who you are. From your very first conversation with Sonia to the moment your finished portrait is in your hands, every detail is thoughtfully guided, personally curated, and designed around you. Your experience begins before the session ever starts. We open with a complimentary Design Consultation — scheduled at least two weeks before your session — where Sonia takes the time to truly understand your vision. Together, you'll explore styles and themes, consider location options, and receive personalized guidance on wardrobe, colors, and what will photograph most beautifully for your unique look and personality. Simply the joy of anticipation. On the day of your session, you arrive as our guest — and Sonia takes it from there. You may choose to add professional hair and makeup artistry to your experience, and if you do, we think you'll love how it feels to be pampered, polished, and stepping in front of the camera already feeling like the most radiant version of yourself. Either way, Sonia's warm artistic direction ensures you look and feel completely at ease from the very first frame. Every portrait is then hand-finished by Sonia herself — refined with care, intention, and the same artistic eye she brings to every session. When your portraits are ready, you'll be invited to a private Portrait Reveal — just you, your finished artwork, and the moment you see yourself the way Sonia sees you. You'll choose the pieces that will become part of your home and your legacy. |

About Sonia Ahmad
Some artists discover their calling. Sonia Ahmad was born into hers. Long before she ever picked up a camera, Sonia was a little girl with a paintbrush — happily losing herself in watercolor landscapes, imaginary characters, and the quiet joy of getting a line just right. Art wasn't something she studied. It was simply who she was. Then came a moment she'll never forget. At just nine years old, Sonia entered a local art competition. With the unself-conscious confidence of a child who truly loves what she does, she painted the Star Mosque in watercolor and submitted it without much fuss. Although her name wouldn't appear anywhere notable, she turned to walk away — until her aunt grabbed her hand and pointed to the very top of the list. First place. She never looked back. In college, Sonia fell in love all over again — this time with photography. She learned to read light, find beauty in unexpected places, and master the technical art of darkroom film processing. She still remembers the wonder of watching a face slowly emerge from blank paper in the dim glow of a darkroom. That feeling — of bringing someone to life through an image — became the heartbeat of everything she does. It still is. |
Today, Sonia Ahmad is a Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman, and the warm, creative heart behind Enjoy the Moment Portraits — a boutique portrait studio in Cypress, Texas. With a rich background in fine art, graphics, and design, she brings both technical mastery and a deeply personal artistic touch to every portrait she creates. She specializes in timeless portraits of women, men, children, and families, with expertise in beauty and fashion-inspired portraiture, executive headshots, and multi-generational legacy portraits.
Her work has been celebrated across the industry. In 2023, Sonia earned awards for Best Portrait of a Man and Best Portrait of a Child. In 2024, she was named Photographer of the Year — alongside honors for Best Portrait of a Man, Best Portrait of a Woman, Best Portrait of a Child, and Best Overall Portraits. In 2025, she continued that legacy with Best Portrait of a Man, Best Portrait of a Woman, and Best Overall Portraits. One of her images was featured in the Image of Excellence section of Professional Photographer magazine, and her studio has been spotlighted in a regional lifestyle publication. The recognition is well-earned — but for Sonia, the real reward has always been the look on a client's face when they see themselves the way she sees them. Sonia believes portraits are far more than photographs. They are a connection to our past and a gift to our future — a way of saying this moment mattered, and so did the people in it. Her greatest joy is creating artwork that feels true, that celebrates the relationships we hold most dear, and that tells a family's story with beauty and love. She is still painting. Still learning.
