I wanted to do a family portrait session, but it's not easy to plan one when the kids are grown up and have their own agendas. I took the initiave on whether it will be at outdoor location or indoor studio setting; I like private settings with controlled climate. That way, we have privacy and don't have to worry about flying hair and sweat. We went with dark colors clothing-wise and kept it casual at the same time. I already planned out how many frames I would be shooting, so it took only thirty minutes or less to create all the images that I needed. The focus isn't on how many photos are taken but rather on lighting, posing and the end goal (whether an album or wall portrait). I apply the same principle when it comes to you as my client.
Here are few things that you need to know before your family portrait session: * First, plan where do you want to display your family portraits. * Think about the surroundings- you want your session in private location or public place? *Plan your outfits at least a week or two weeks in advance. *Prepare your kids and husband what is happening and ask them if they know whether it is a lowkey, formal, modern or casual family session! *Make hair, nail, and/or makeup appointments before your session. * Does your photgrapher know how to Pose a family? *Communicate with your portrait photographer. Do you know we can show your portrait on your favorite living wall before you even purchase a wall portrait?
