If I were your photographer I would love to discuss what would be the best for your family portrait location during our pre portrait session. If you like outdoor, I would instinctively head outdoors in search of a great location for most shoots. I would find a spot for photos with natural light. After all, the greater light source is the sun which has abundant rays and it is free. I will love to use that free light but would manipulate that with my additional lights and other photo gears. There are plenty of opportunity to be creative by engaging with the world at large. Something exciting takes place when shooting on location in any public space where the elements and passers-by create a dynamic atmosphere.
I regularly shoot in my studio when the situation calls for it. I can control the light which is the vital part in my portrait photography. I can dial in exactly what I want whether it’s fluorescent or tungsten lights, side or backlighting, or the all-important brightness and diffusion and tone. I have a freedom that comes from setting up and shooting away knowing that a scene is perfectly lit and won’t change until I want it to. There are no crazy winds that can cover your face or eyes. There are lots of privacy for you to be yourself. The results are great. Sonia Ahmad
