A Portrait Session with my daughter

Hello readers,

Like every year, I did a portrait session with my daughter just last week. She is a freshman in High School. She not only loves playing volleyball, but the volleyball is the only sports that she had been playing since she was six year old. She also loves playing violin. Sometimes music is a way for her to express herself when words fall short. This year, we must need to get together for portraits one more time to see her passion for music. However, due to her skin delicacy (eczema), we both prefer anything indoor setting . She was interested in gym locker for her volleyball portraits session. I also had many seniors requested if I could arrange a gym locker! This year I have added gym lockers along with other setting in my cozy studio (comfortable, private setting).
When it comes to make-up for teens/pre-teens, I say to keep it simple. The mascara and the eye liners are more than perfect. Little dab of eye shadows can get along nice. Natural color lipstick and keep hair the way they usually do. I remind them to use face powder and bring it with them to the portrait session.
I had fun being with my girl in the studio session, the editing part is my favorite. She looked happy and confident during the session. As usual, she was shy when I first showed her the images. She said, "Is that me? I look pretty!" She knows that she is a pretty young lady, but sometimes she also needs little praises or pampers from her peers. I call her beautiful every chance I get, maybe she doesn't believe it when I say so! But the pictures say it all! To me, it is okay to praise my own kids everyday that way they feel good about themselves everyday. :)
