Enjoy the Moment Portraits BlogHigh-Quality Portraits for Your Business and Fine Family PortraitsI had a great time attending Aileen Harding’s senior workshop. It was focused on high school seniors posing and lighting. As my primary interest is working with the young kids like High School Seniors, I always find ways to capture their emotions. Emotions are not about looking at the camera and put your best smiles. My job is to show my subject’s personality with emotion. It is all about their happiness, excitement and pride. My favorite style is low key where the subject is usually engaged with something or being just himself. My light is completely focused on the subject and I love to use additional lights from different directions. However, this image was shot color in Aileen Harding’s studio. While Aileen was demonstrating the lighting pattern, I recomposed and took the picture of this good looking young model. I wanted it classic black and white and added a little punch to it later during post processing. Image # 1 was straight from the camera, no editing at all. Image #2 which is B&W.
