Enjoy the Moment Portraits BlogHigh-Quality Portraits for Your Business and Fine Family PortraitsPhotography tip- Selective focus and shallow depth of field is the way to keep your subject separate from the background. I am focused on the Queen, which is my subject. My daughter is in the background, who compliments the subject, is out of focus in the frame. Macro or telephoto lens is great for this purpose. An extension tube is a relatively inexpensive option- an extension tube can be added in between your camera and the wide angle lens you have that comes with your DSLR will shorten the minimum focus distance by moving the lens further from the camera sensor. It doesn't have any optics which that means there is no glass to compromise the quality of the image.
